OUR CLIENT & THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a well-established multi-site manufacturer of edible and non-edible baking products based in the UK. As a result of significant investment in its manufacturing and production division, and an increase in its market share, the business is going from strength-to-strength and has strategically placed itself in a strong position to continue this upward trajectory for the future. We are now searching for a skilled HR professional to join our client’s site leadership team and take ownership of the HR function.

 

CANDIDATE BRIEF

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a well-established leadership team and act as the sole HR presence. You will be responsible for all HR activity within the non-edibles division, providing first line support and supporting the Operations Director in developing the team.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • First line HR support across the non-edibles division, escalating matters to the Senior Leadership Team when necessary.
  • Onboarding new employees, managing all new starter documentation, and delivering appropriate site inductions.
  • Preparing payroll documentation for processing by an external provider.
  • Generate KPI reports and analyse to drive improvement in areas such as headcount, absence, overtime, and staff turnover.
  • Support management in the site with the training of HR policies and procedures and support with disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Keep the business compliant in terms of legislation, SEDEX and customer standards.
  • Conduct exit interviews with employees, analysing trends and reporting feedback to the senior leadership team where appropriate.
  • Manage employee sickness and long-term absence, ensuring consistent application of company policies.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of employee data in terms of working hours and holidays.
  • Support organisational change in the business, undertaking projects that will support the company’s strategy and improve the effectiveness of HR.

 

Candidate skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in an operational HR role is essential.
  • An understanding of working in a FMCG or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • CIPD qualified.
  • In depth knowledge of current employment legislation and experience with employee relations.
  • Flexibility to travel to other sites within the business when required.
  • Full UK driving license.
