Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor - FMCG

Key Benefits:

  • £50,000 pa, dependent on experience

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Previous experience in a plant/production environment; preferably within FMCG/Food.
  • Knowledge of EHS law and best practice.
  • A recognised H&S qualification; NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and other relevant standards.
  • Waste Management expertise.
  • Strong training identification and delivery skills.

The Role

This is a manufacturing business with impressive growth plans that this individual will play a key part in. As such, we are looking for a Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor to drive a culture of safety within this facility. Establishing a safe environment, engaging with all areas of the business, and promoting technical and cultural safety processes are key to this role and we are looking to speak to candidates that can demonstrate previous success in a similar environment.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment, in line with legal and EHS requirements, whilst leading and developing a culture of safety across the facility. You will partner with all site teams to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, assistance, and challenge on EHS matters as needed.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and lead HSE audits.
  • Develop a culture of safety engagement and communicate successes across the business.
  • Oversee COSHH manual management and submission of data for compliance.
  • Conduct EHS inspections and audits, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in accident investigations and provide recommendations for prevention.
  • Review and align policies, procedures, and documentation with management systems.
  • Maintain records related to EHS, including ISO 14001 standards.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Network to ensure compliance with company policy.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs.

Their award-winning and distinctive product is manufactured on their Harrogate site and distributed to premium brands across the UK and beyond. As a result of their impressive international recognition, they now have plans to further increase their manufacturing capabilities and as such are searching for a Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join their talented team.
