Strive Group - Marmion Case Study
Case Study

Delivering High-Impact Results through a Retained Volume Recruitment Strategy

This case study showcases our successful engagement with Strive Group, highlighting key achievements and the strategic value provided by Marmion.

Background:

Marmion’s relationship with Strive Group (formerly TALENTStream) dates back to 2016, when they became our very first client. At that pivotal early stage, we successfully placed a key hire who remains with the business today. Since then, our relationship has evolved and endured. Marmion has continued to provide trusted contingency support, maintaining open lines of communication and a deep understanding of Strive Group’s culture and needs.

Strategic Meeting and Planning:

In January 2024, we held a focused meeting to agree and mobilise a strategic volume recruitment strategy. During this session, the client shared their updated business vision and confirmed a 12-month recruitment budget. We agreed on favourable commercial terms, including a monthly retainer, enabling a proactive and sustained approach. Since our initial engagement in 2016, the business had undergone significant change, now led by a single Managing Owner and with a workforce that had more than doubled.

Although the team was stable, the pace of growth had revealed a gap in leadership capability - an area the business was keen to strengthen from within. The client’s priority was to attract individuals who not only met the immediate requirements of each role but also demonstrated the potential and ambition to evolve into future leaders. This informed our approach, ensuring we focused on candidates with both the capability to perform and the aspiration to contribute to the company’s long-term succession and strategic direction.

Recruitment Strategy and Execution

Following our strategic planning meeting with all the hiring managers in January 2024, Marmion mobilised a tailored recruitment plan aligned to our client’s 12-month budget and long-term vision. With favourable commercial terms agreed, including a monthly retainer, we were able to deliver a consistent and focused recruitment programme.

Over a six-month period in 2024, Marmion applied its ethics-first, proven recruitment process to successfully place 28 new hires across a broad range of roles. These included:

  • Customer Service/Success Advisors
  • Desk-Based Account Managers
  • Contact Centre Executives
  • Business Support Administrators
  • Sales Executives
  • Internal Trainer
  • Operations Manager
  • Events Manager

Further hires into the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) were already planned as part of the next phase.

Performance Metrics

Our delivery outcomes demonstrate the strength of this recruitment approach:

Interviews Arranged

CVs Presented to Interviews Arranged: 1:1

Job Offers

Interviews to Offers: 2:1

Offers to Acceptance

30 offers made, with 28 accepted

Attrition

We recorded 50% less attrition than would be typically found within this type of environment (inbound/outbound contact centre). However, in instances where attrition occurred, we replaced at no extra charge.

This has all been achieved under budget, resulting in a 42% cost saving compared to standard agency charges.

Additional Support and Services

Beyond recruitment delivery, Marmion provided value-added services that helped embed hiring success and strengthen leadership capability. These included:

  • Tailored workshops for hiring managers on effective interviewing
  • Mentorship for SLT members to build confidence and capability
  • i3 personality profiling with feedback sessions to support team dynamics
  • Ongoing consultancy and interviewing support for the Managing Director

This case study reflects Marmion’s ability to act as a true strategic partner, supporting not just recruitment, but the client’s broader business goals around leadership, culture, and retention. We continue to work closely with Strive Group, ensuring every hire contributes to their long-term success.

Since completing this campaign, we have continued to support Strive Group as and when required, reinforcing our commitment to building a strategic, flexible partnership that adapts to their evolving needs and supports sustainable growth.
