Legal Secretary - Residential Property

The Opportunity:

Our client, a highly respected regional law firm, is seeking a professional and organised Legal Secretary to join their busy Residential Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal secretary or administrator to support a well-established department whilst developing their career within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Role:

As the Legal Secretary, you will work closely with the Solicitors and other legal professionals and provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support, including diary management, document production, client communication and file administration. Acting as a key point of contact for clients and colleagues, you'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth progression of residential property matters whilst delivering a consistently high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing correspondence, legal documents and other case-related paperwork using digital dictation and word processing tools.
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meetings for Solicitors and legal professionals.
  • Providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support across the Residential Property department.
  • Assisting with client file management, including opening, closing, storing and retrieving documentation.
  • Preparing accounts information, invoices and other financial documentation as required.
  • Handling client enquiries professionally via telephone, email and in person.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all documentation is handled confidentially.
  • Supporting the wider office with reception and administrative cover when required.
  • Building positive working relationships across the team to support the efficient running of the department.

The Candidate:

We're keen to speak with organised and proactive individuals who can manage competing priorities whilst delivering exceptional support to both clients and colleagues.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous legal secretarial experience is preferred, although candidates with strong administrative experience gained within professional services environments will also be considered.
  • Excellent typing, document formatting and administrative skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • High levels of accuracy, attention to detail and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience using legal case management systems and knowledge of residential property processes would be advantageous but is not essential.
