Data Analytics & Insights Specialist - Power BI

Location: Leeds
Working Style: Hybrid Working (up to 2 days at home)

The Role:

We’re seeking an adaptable & confident Data Analyst with advanced Power BI expertise to lead the design and delivery of custom dashboards for clients. You’ll work with data across marketing, sales, e-commerce, inventory, and operations - connecting sources such as BigQuery and Google Sheets, building scalable data models, and creating intuitive, insight-driven dashboards that support business decision-making

Roles & Responsibilities:

Client Requirements & Scoping: Work with clients and account managers to define goals, key metrics, and dashboard requirements.
Custom Power BI Development: Design, build, and maintain white-labelled Power BI reports tailored to client needs, with intuitive UX for non-technical users.
Diverse Data Integration: Extract and transform data from a range of client sources, including marketing platforms, SQL databases, and Excel files.
Data Modelling & DAX: Build scalable data models in Power BI and use advanced DAX to create KPIs, time-based metrics, and cross-functional reports.
External Sharing & Security: Manage Power BI workspaces, apps, and sharing, including Row-Level Security to protect client data.
Client Presentation & Support: Present dashboards to clients, explain insights, answer questions, and refine reports based on feedback.
Data Quality Assurance: Troubleshoot data issues, monitor refreshes, and ensure the accuracy of client reporting.

Skills & Experience:

Please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
Solid experience as a Data Analytics & Insights Specialist, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar is essential.
Experience working within a Marketing Agency or Consultancy, or an internal role working with eCommerce data would be preferred.
Advanced skills in Power BI Desktop and Service, including Power Query (M), complex DAX, data modelling, and workspace administration.
Confident communicating with both internal and external stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong SQL skills for querying and joining data from various relational databases.
Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and Power Query.
Great attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, pivot between different client requests, and make sense of unstructured client data.
Familiarity with cloud data warehouses and knowledge of Python or R would be desirable.
