Graduate Cyber Security Specialist

  • Hull based HQ (3 days per week minimum in the office is essential)
  • Hybrid/Flexible working model
  • £23,000 - £27,500pa DOE

Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within commutable distance to Hull. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain an asset register (systems, applications, programs, software, etc) across all subsidiaries within the group.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans, identifying weaknesses within systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to address and resolve identified vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor security systems and networks for signs of security breaches or suspicious activities.
  • Analyse security alerts and logs to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of an incident response plan.
  • Assist in responding to security incidents, conducting investigations, and containing security breaches.
  • Promote security awareness & best practice the wider business through training, communication, whilst remaining up to date on latest techniques and sector updates.
  • Ensure wider business is compliant with standards such as cyber essentials, GDPR, and work towards ISO270001.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree qualification in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, or similar is essential.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a Cyber Security or Information Security role is desired.
  • Industry certification, e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or Certified Ethical Hacker is desired.
  • Proficiency in using security tools & technologies for monitoring and analysis. (Sophos, MDR, Mimecast, Microsoft Defender, Lansweeper, Cybercomply, Appcheck-NG, etc.)
  • UK resident and unrestricted right to work in the UK – please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas applicants.
