IT Managed Services Design Consultant

  • ÂŁ45,000 – ÂŁ55,000 pa DOE
  • Remote – (work from home with occasional travel to client sites)

THE ROLE:

Reporting into the Head of Service Design, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Sales team with scoping, designing, & promoting the business’ Service & Solutions offering to new and existing clients. You will be responsible for designing and delivering tailored solutions based on client requirements, covering a variety of outsourcing and support disciplines including support services, monitoring, hardware maintenance, software support, service desk, remote management, and service improvements.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and articulate a comprehensive understanding of the business’ service proposition.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and design/develop appropriate solutions that provide value, are commercially viable for the client and business, and match customer needs.
  • Produce proposals and presentations to outline the solution and ROI/value added to customers.
  • Lead thorough client briefing process, ensuring adequate information is gathered for complete and comprehensive proposals.
  • Establish assumptions and risks of the solution and manage these throughout the creation and transition process.
  • Create solution description documentation, managing the transition from operations to solution delivery, and resolve queries to ensure successful handover.
  • Follow internal processes for approval and cost sign off, working with the commercial team to ensure service schedules are created in line with the solution design.
  • Work closely with the project management team on onboarding/transition service projects.
  • Ensure all relevant activity related to opportunities are recorded, updated, and maintained on Salesforce.
  • Contribute to the development of the business’ service offering, providing the senior leadership team with service improvement opportunities and new propositions.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in an IT Service Design Consultant role or similar is highly desirable.
  • Experience within an IT Managed Service Provider, VAR, IT Reseller, or similar is essential.
  • IT Service Delivery Manager, Transition Manager, Service Desk Manager role experience would be considered.
  • Analytical and logical mindset; the ability to understand a customer’s IT environment & requirements and translate into relevant solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present, negotiate, and influence senior stakeholders regarding complex technical and commercial matters.
  • An understanding of ITIL best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail & written skills, with proven experience writing complex managed service/support-based solution proposals.
  • Experience of services including MDM, Service Desk, and technologies including Desktop, Cloud, Outsourced Infrastructure, and Networking, on either/both Apple and Windows estates.
  • Knowledge/experience of working with contracts involving TUPE.
  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite and experience creating and managing complex Excel spreadsheets, analysing data with the use of advanced features (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
  • Public Sector procurement & IT Bid Support Process experience would be highly beneficial but not essential.
  • PRINCE2 and/or ITIL qualification, desired but not essential.
  • UK resident with unrestricted right to work in the UK; please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
