IT Sales Account Manager – FE & Independent Schools

  • Location: London / Nottingham
  • Working Style: Hybrid (Home/Office/Client Site)
  • Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 pa DOE + Monthly Commission

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Development:
  • Create and execute sales strategies targeting UK FE & Independent schools, building a healthy and consistent pipeline to achieve sales targets.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and other business development activities.
  • Identify new sales opportunities, and lead consultative selling conversations, leveraging market research and industry/sector insights.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and renewals, ensuring commercial success and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver and implement tailored solutions, ensuring a smooth onboarding/transition.
  • Ensure all sales activity and account information is consistently and accurately recorded with thin the internal CRM system.
  • Account Management & Development:
  • Create and execute strategic account plans to retain and grow spend within existing customer base of FE & Independent Schools.
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key-decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular account reviews, identifying renewals and upsell opportunities.
  • Provide market insights to the relevant internal teams, sharing best practices, customer feedback, and intelligence to support peers and inform product/marketing strategies.
  • Represent the business at local/national education conferences, exhibitions, and events.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years Sales Account Manager, Business Development Manager, or similar role within Education Technology / VAR / Channel.
  • FE & Independent Schools experience.
  • Commercially astute and target driven with a track record of achieving/exceeding targets.
  • Confident, enthusiastic, and highly self-motivated with a consultative sales approach.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred but is not essential.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite, and CRM software.
  • UK resident with unrestricted right to work in the UK; please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
