Junior IT Buyer

  • Nottingham

OUR CLIENT:

Our client is an award-winning provider/reseller of technology and managed IT services, offering end-to-end business solutions to clients of all sizes. It is an extremely forward-thinking organisation committed to investing in the business and its employees to ensure it maintains its reputation as a market leader, within the industry.

As a result of their continued success, and growth plans for the future, we are now searching for a Junior Buyer to join their procurement team, to work within their Media & Entertainment sector.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use task management system to prioritise work, ensuring SLA’s are
  • Place orders with suppliers, obtain written confirmation for each order placed in which the product description, SKU, cost and ETA is clearly specified updating the ERP with content relevant to the purchase order.
  • Update the relevant departments to ensure progress is communicated and updated regularly.
  • Notify accounts department when orders are complete to ensure customers are invoiced promptly.
  • Negotiate and identify best price, availability, quality, and value on all products/services.
  • Assist senior buyers to ensure budgets and forecast targets are
  • Manage product sourcing, pricing, and lead time management for run rate and special- order items.
  • Ensure product portfolio and supplier information is accurate and kept up to date, including code
  • Assist the sales team with product and price enquiries, ensuring customer requirements are specified, stated, and met.
  • Ensure any challenges or issues with orders, goods-in and invoice queries are managed and dealt with effectively and in a collaborative manner.
  • Own and manage backorders appropriately, ensuring that delays and errors are kept to a
  • Understand current stock levels and assist the senior buyers in identifying and reducing costs associated with aged and ex-demo stock.
  • Ensure the negative impact customer order cancellations and returns is minimised through supplier negotiation and effective communication of any incurred restocking fee.
  • Establish long-term relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure that the business gains competitive advantage in the

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience working within a fast paced procurement function is essential.
  • Excellent and proactive communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to make and justify decisions.
  • Ability to pick up knowledge of products and processes quickly.
  • Excellent service skills to both internal customers and external supply chain partners.
  • Initiative thinker, offering achievable solutions under pressure.
  • Team-centric attitude with the ability to adapt in a constantly evolving landscape.
  • Knowledge and interest in IT hardware and software is beneficial.
