We are searching for...

An experienced & entrepreneurial Managing Director, with an innovative approach to leadership, and a passion for scaling businesses, whilst nurturing a high-performing, purpose-driven culture. This is a critical role initially supporting & engaging with the founders, with the view to assume considerable autonomy and influence over the direction, strategy and growth of the business. By setting clear goals and metrics for measurements of success, you will drive business growth, maintain & nurture the existing collaborative culture, lead people with the support of the wider senior leadership team (SLT), increase profitability (EBITDA), and maintain and continue to deliver their B Corp status.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Leadership:

  • Work closely with the business’ founders to identify, refine, and formulate the company strategy, focusing on both revenue and EBITDA improvement.
  • Work closely with the SLT to identify, develop, and implement strategies to drive efficiency, profitability, and customer retention/acquisition, providing guidance to ensure scalability.
  • Provide strong leadership and support the internal efforts in achieving substantial growth in market share & brand awareness with a key focus on expansion within the enterprise sector.
  • Exhibit expert guidance to support the founders and SLT and lead on the decision-making process.
  • Encourage entrepreneurial thinking within your SLT, whilst maintaining alignment with long-term goals.
  • Coach, mentor, and encourage the ongoing development of the senior leadership team and employees across all levels.
  • Oversee P&L management, budgeting and financial forecasting to ensure sustainable financial health and security.
  • Maintain and champion the company’s people-first approach, prioritising the well-being, development, and satisfaction of current and future employees.
  • Keep focused on long-term partnerships and expanding the customer base in new sectors.

Innovation & Development:

  • Collaborate with the technology and product teams in aligning innovation with the business’ growth objectives.
  • Identify areas for innovation within internal processes to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify product & service offering innovation opportunities to elevate the business within the community and gain competitive advantage within the field.
  • Foster and encourage a culture of continuous improvement and technological leadership.

Financial & Fiscal responsibility:

  • Possess a deep understanding of the financial aspects of the business, and ensure all public representations align with the company's financial health and strategic goals.
  • Communicate the company’s value proposition in a way that highlights sustainable growth and profitability, showing an understanding of cost management, budgeting, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Where required, confidently communicate the company’s financial performance, using data and metrics to support claims and projections.
  • Balance promoting the company while remaining fiscally responsible, ensuring that any commitments or public statements align with the company’s financial strategy and stakeholder expectations.
  • When appropriate, identify potential investment opportunities, presenting data-driven evidence of the growth potential /projections to investors in a compelling manner.
  • Utilise previous experienced in securing funding for expansion to fuel business growth.

  • Be articulate and capable of delivering clear, engaging messages to both internal and external stakeholders and audiences.
  • Have an in-depth understanding & experience within EdTech, SaaS, Digital Learning & Development, allowing them to speak authoritatively on relevant topics.
  • Ultimately be aligned with the company’s ethics, values, & mission, representing them authentically in public forums.
  • Excel at building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels across a diverse range of industries.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with investors, clients, partners, and the broader business community.
  • Unwavering focus on the business delivering a client-centric approach to service, driving customer satisfaction and retention through excellent service and product innovation.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven, demonstrable, and extensive experience as a Managing Director within a business that saw substantial growth during tenure.
  • Demonstrable experience and success in driving business growth and improving EBITDA.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to support founders and scale businesses.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a focus on people, culture, and professional development.
  • A passion for sustainability and motivation to implement responsible business practices into operational procedures.
  • Experience leading companies through transformative growth and complex transitions.
