Mixing Room Operator

Looking to join a fast‑paced and growing food manufacturing business with long‑term opportunity and progression?

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy food preparation team within a thriving food manufacturing facility. You’ll be working on a fast‑moving production line, playing a vital role in delivering high‑quality food products while maintaining exceptional standards of hygiene and safety.

  • Based in Bedale
  • Working Pattern: 4 days on 2 days off
  • Hours: 7am start, finish times may vary depending on daily production targets (approx. 40 hours per week)
  • With experience and strong performance, pay can increase over time, with clear development & progression opportunities into Supervisor & Team Leader roles.
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), free lunch provided daily, free on-site parking, full PPE provided

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow recipes, operate and attend machinery to mix and blend a variety of raw food and spices.
  • Working and operating within a busy, clean and tidy mixing room.
  • Ensuring that all company specific food procedures and recipes are carefully followed.
  • Ensuring all batch codes are recorded accurately and labelled correctly, and that all paperwork and checks are completed.
  • All health and safety procedures to be always followed including, operating machinery, using knifes and allergen / cross contamination.
  • Carrying out daily housekeeping, cleanliness, and hygiene tasks.
  • Stopping machinery or use of faulty equipment immediately and reporting to a supervisor if any issues arise.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety at all times.
  • Wearing and correctly using all provided PPE ensuring that you are wearing the correct colour PPE to the product you are using.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working within a food production or manufacturing environment is essential, experience within meat product production would be advantageous.
  • Please note: This is a physically demanding role requiring a high level of attention to cleanliness, quality, and hygiene.
  • Flexible approach to work and open to working additional hours during peak production periods.
  • Driving licence required.
  • Ability to follow instructions, recipes, standard operating procedures.
  • Confident communicator who is able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working within a chilled production line environment.
  • Due to the nature of this role, candidates must have a permanent Right to Work in the UK, residing within a commutable distance to Bedale. Please note, our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.
