Senior Software Engineer

  • £55,000 - £65,000 pa, dependent on experience
  • Sheffield Office
  • Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the wider team of Software Engineers, Designers and Product Owners to actively contribute towards continuous improvement and advise practical solution alternatives.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the team.
  • Hold a natural curiosity and approach to learning new technologies; feeding back to the wider business to help gain a competitive advantage within the industry. 
  • Write excellent and extendible code, adhering to coding and commenting standards and adopting a TDD and BDD approach.
  • Actively contribute to the execution of the Digital and Technology strategy, driving alignment with the architectural roadmap.
  • Devise and execute intelligent methods for storing and presenting complex data.
  • Carry out all roles required as a part of an agile development team to design, build and deploy applications in line with business needs and priorities.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of software development (C#, ASP.NET) experience within a SaaS environment.
  • Experience in a senior position, providing technical leadership to a team of developers.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering agile development of software using the appropriate tools.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps.

Essential:

  • C#
  • ASP.NET MVC
  • SQL Server
  • Experience with API development (SOAP & REST)
  • Experience with TDD and unit testing frameworks (xUnit)
  • Azure DevOps with Git

Desirable:

  • AWS/Azure experience
  • NoSQL Databases
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks, React, Typescript, etc.
  • CI/CD Implementation
