The Role

As Product Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and legal compliance of our client’s diverse range of products. You will be the ‘shield’ that protects the business from non-compliance by driving process checks, managing risks, undertaking testing, and ensuring all specification and labelling meet UK and global standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee product specifications and compliance documentation.
Produce and review product risk assessments and provide evidence of compliance.
Oversee product testing and ensure products pass all legal and customer required testing.
Provide correct labelling of products including compliant nutritional data, product descriptions, and mandatory warnings.
Logging, management and evaluation of all product related data and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation (toy, hardware, electronics, packaging, and food safety)
Collaborate with technical, design, and sales teams to ensure technical compliance and accuracy across all products.

The Candidate

Key Skills and Experience:

Prior experience in a product compliance & technologist role, preferably within the toy safety, packaging, or craft-gifting industry.
A background in FMCG or consumer goods with strong regulatory and compliance focus.
High levels of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
Knowledge and understanding on global regulations including food and toy safety standards.
Excellent written communication and documentation abilities.
Process-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and with a team.
Good working knowledge of labelling requirements.
Familiarity with HACCP and BRC standards.
