Senior Quantity Surveyor - Dispute Resolution

We are searching for an experienced and ambitious Quantity Surveyor who is looking to progress their career within contentious services and dispute resolution.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a passion to establish themselves within the contentious and dispute resolution sector. In this role, you will be given expert guidance – along with qualification funding – to progress your career to the next level. You will play a pivotal role in driving their contentious services brand, alongside further developing their subscription-based model aimed at disrupting the contractor support sector.

You will be joining a team of commercial support, dispute support and ADR specialists across a variety of contentious projects, providing strategic guidance and developing client relationships. In addition, you will be required to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to resolve disputes and claims effectively. This role has the potential for rapid advancement to a director level position.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in the delivery of contentious quantity surveying services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Supporting a varied client base, typically Main Contractors, on projects with a £2m+ value and £500k subcontract packages.
  • Assisting in developing and driving the contentious quantity surveying brand, aligning it with the overall company goals and objectives.
  • Driving business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, fostering client relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies and solutions to effectively handle disputes, claims, and litigation, ensuring favourable outcomes for clients.

The Candidate

You will be an ambitious and driven construction industry professional with a real passion to progress in the contentious market. You will be able to demonstrate previous success as a quantity surveyor and possess expert knowledge of relevant legal frameworks and procedures related to disputes, claims, and litigation in the construction industry.

We would love to speak to candidates who can display the following:

  • A professional qualification in quantity surveying, e.g., MRICS
  • In-depth knowledge of contentious quantity surveying practices, methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Excellent client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including lawyers, arbitrators, and clients.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information and build persuasive arguments.
  • Exceptional business acumen with a strategic mindset and ability to drive business growth.
  • UK resident and unrestricted right to work in the UK.
